Laryea Kingston will miss Ghana's final World Cup qualifier against Lesotho through suspension.
The Ghana Football Association has been informed by the game's governing body that the Hearts of Scotland player is ineligible for the crucial tie in Sekondi on October 11 having picked up two yellow cards in Ghana's previous games against Gabon in Libreville and against Libya in Tripoli recently.
GFA officials say per FIFA regulations, the player is suspended for the Sekondi game and have been informed as such.
The news could mean further loss of cutting edge on the wings for Ghana after coach Milovan Rajevac dropped Birmingham City winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie from the squad, unimpressed with not just his output in the Libya when he came on for Kingston but his attitude throughout that period.
Kingson has scored twice in five games for Ghana in qualifying so far and his absence is likely to be a much more concern for Ghanaian football fans.
He issued a rallying cry to his colleagues after the Tripoli loss urging them to do all they can to win.
"We must not only win, we must win big. In a way we will be playing to prove all those who said we did not deserve to be at the last world cup wrong because we can't afford to lose out this early in the qualifiers," he told KickOffGhana.com.
Good rallying call but he will not able to lead from the front in Sekondi through suspension.
