Gambia: Fire Outbreak At Home Finance Company

A dramatic scene unfolded last night, as fire egulfed the building housing the Home Finance Company and Social Security and Housing Finance Co-operation, the floor on top of Trust Bank Limited, at Westfield, the Daily Observer can reveal.

According to eye witnesses, the fire started at around 8.00 clock local time, in the evening when the Fire Service personnel were called immediately to contain it.

Mr Salimina Tamba, a security officer at G4S security, said only two air conditioners got burnt in the fire incident. Mr Tamba who rushed to the scene immediately the fire broke out, told the Daily Observer that it was easily contained by the Fire Service personnel.

Sources also informed this paper that the two air conditioners that got burnt had just been bought and fixed, yesterday.

However, until the time of going to press, the cause of the fire was not ascertained but many onlookers believed that it was due to an electric fault.

Apart from the Fire Service's intervention, other security personnel headed by the security chiefs, were also present on the ground.
