New York — The ruling MPLA secretary-general, Julião Mateus Paulo, is to participate on Friday in New York, United States of America, in the meeting of the Presidium of the Socialist International (SI), ANGOP has learnt.
The meeting, which will take place alongside the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly, will debate the tasks and priorities of the organisation, programme activities, analyse the progress achieved in the millennium development goals and ways of ensuring their implementation by 2015.
The interchange of ideas on other important current world topics are also part of the meeting's agenda.
The MPLA team to the gathering, that is since Wednesday in New York, comprises the party's secretary for external affairs, Paulo Teixeira Jorge, among other high ranking official of this political organisation.
Julião Mateus Paulo is currently the SI vice president.
