Lagos — The aggressive drive by Tyonex Nigeria Ltd, one of Nigeria 's leading pharmaceutical firms, to rid the nation of the scourge of malaria has received a quantum boost with the introduction of its range of anti-malaria products.
Leading the attack is Actimax, a powerful combination of Artemether and Lumefantrine, for maximum action against malaria in both children and adults. The suspension is a child-sensitive presentation in three tasty flavours - banana, orange and raspberry. It is said to be the first triple flavoured anti-malaria suspension to be manufactured in Nigeria . Both the suspension and tablets are produced by Divine Essential Formulations, the manufacturing arm of Tyonex Nigeria Ltd.
Mr. Emmanuel Agba, Managing Director, Tyonex Nigeria Limited said: "Children are more vulnerable to malaria. When it strikes, one of the first things they lose is appetite. This is why Actimax suspension is pleasantly flavoured for children. It eliminates malaria rapidly but in a particularly pleasant way for them, guaranteeing quick and complete recovery." Mr. Agba said the Actimax tablet for adults is unique because it is clinically packaged for maximum protection from sunlight and causes no itching and drowsiness.
Also in the Tyonex anti-malaria range is Activin, a combination of Artesunate and Amodiaquine tablets, designed to "flush out malaria fast," according to Mr. Agba who said the drug is also protected from sunlight.
