Nigeria: Etuhu in Love With London

27 September 2008

Dickson Etuhu is delighted to be back in London, after joining Fulham from Sunderland last month.

Etuhu endured a season of mixed-fortunes throughout his time in the north-east, featuring only 20 times in the Premier League during an injury-disrupted campaign.

He joined Roy Keane's side from Norwich City of the Championship and is now pleased to be back in the familiar surroundings of London.

Although born in Kano, Etuhu grew up in London and has spoken of his delight at having signed for Roy Hodgson's side.

He told Fulham's official website: "I grew up in Peckham, so it's nice to come back home after 10 years.

"I left when I was younger to go to Man City, and I played a few games there, but decided to leave to get some more football. So then David Moyes took me to Preston for three-and-a-half years where I played almost 150 games, and then I went to Norwich, played more than 50 matches there and then went from Norwich to Sunderland.

"At Sunderland I played half of their first Premier League season, but then I got injured and I'm just on my way back from injury now, and here at Fulham. It's great to be home," Etuhu said.
