Accra — In light of the unevendistributionof growth and growing perceptions of exclusionamong theunder-priviledged population, the Inclusive Growth Project aims to (a) to better understand what constitutes inclusive growth; (b) what are the means, especially in respect to the role of corporates and entrepreneurs, that can generate inclusive growth, and (c) how can these means be implemented and sustained.
MPedigree, a Ghanaian Stakeholder Platform that uses mobile technology and social marketing to link stakeholders around the issue of quality supervision, has been selected after athree-month research procedure by the Council of Global Thought Leaders as part of a group of projects around the globe to be showcased at a forthcoming event in New Delhi, India. The Council felt that the project is a great example of social inclusiveness,health concern and economic success, which, in its opinion,deserves to be presented tothe global leaders community invitedin Delhionthe occasion of the meeting:
Globalisation, Corporate Leadership and Inclusive Growth: An Indian Agenda for Global Knowledge & Local Implementation.
The objectives of the meeting to be held in Delhi between19-22 Octoberisto showcase12-15successful inclusive growth business models, to be presented bytheir initiators and stakeholders coming fromdifferent parts of the world. The conclusion of the meeting will draw guidelines to how the participants can act upon the lessons learned in making their own contributions to inclusive growth and the monitoring of inclusive growth projects which will either evolve or be launched in India following the Delhi meeting.
Decision makers, both from the public and private sectors, will be convened, along with initiators of inclusive growth projects to create amulti stakeholdersplatform. The objective is tobuild bridges and identify templates for actions.
