Ghana: Pantsil Apologises to West Ham Fans

Fulham defender John Pantsil has apologised to fans of his former club West Ham after he looked to have needlessly clattered into keeper Robert Green on Saturday.

The Ghanaian appeared to tread on the head of Green in the first half clash on Saturday.

West Ham fans turned against the player who was a cult hero during his two-year stay with the Hammers resulting in his constant barracking during the game.

But Pantsil said the clash was an accident and pleaded with the Hammers to forgive him.

He said: "I am very sorry for what happened because I did not mean to do it.

"The West Ham fans were very good to me last season.

"I welcomed them to Fulham and I hope they can forget this. I still love them."

West Ham beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage with Pantsil playing the entire duration of the game.
