The delegation of Angola's ruling MPLA party that attended the Socialist International meeting Friday in New York (USA) that focused on world political and economic phenomena, left Sunday for Luanda.
The meeting MPLA attended with a delegation headed by its secretary general, Julião Mateus Paulo "Dino Matrosse", analysed issues of world interest like the financial and food crises, the high fuels prices, climatic changes, international security and other global stability concerns.
Held on the fringes of the 63rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, whose works started on September 23, the Socialist International meeting appealed for solidarity among its members to help lessen the constraints facing some of them.
The situation in countries like Zimbabwe, Georgia, Mongolia, Serbia, Somalia, Sudan, Haiti and others experiencing political crises and/or humanitarian disasters, deserved a special address by the Socialist International members.
The delegation of MPLA that is currently the Socialist International deputy chair, included the party's politburo secretary for external relatins, Paulo Teixeira Jorge, and other officials.
