Nigeria: Zulu-Gambari Preaches Executive, Legislative Harmony

Ilorin — Chairman, Traditional Rulers Council in Kwara state and Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari yesterday urged the members of the state House of Assembly and the executive council to continue to uphold their current cordial relationship in order to bring more dividends of democracy to the rural populace.Alhaji Gambari stated this in Ilorin on yesterday during the Eid-El- Fitr celebration held at the Ilorin Muslims Praying Ground, saying the way and manner the two organs of government have been piloting the affairs of the state have brought an indelible mark in the political history of the state.

" I want to commend the members of the state House of Assembly and the executive council led by Governor Bukola Saraki in the last five years of the present administration in Kwara State as their cordial relationship has brought a new lease of life to the people of the state, " he said.

He stated that the on-going transformation of the state under the leadership of Governor Saraki could not have been possible if the two organs were at each other's throats as being experienced in some other states of the federation.

The Emir also used the occasion to appeal to the Muslims to allow the just concluded Ramadan fasting to continue to reflect on their ways of life.He said that the fasting has thought everyone to continue to be each other's partner, love , kind, among others, adding that it is through such steps that one can have eternal life.

Earlier, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir used the occasion to advise the Muslims and political office holders to continue to use what Allah have bestowed on them for the upliftment of the society.He said that they should remember that there was nothing that accompanies anyone to this earth and there is nothing that will take along when leaving this world.Sheikh Bashr therefore prayed that for the peace and socio economic development of the nation as Nigeria mark her 48th Independence anniversary.
