National cricket teams from Jerseys Islands and Italy arrive today for the 2008 ICC World League Division 4 starting on Friday in Dar es Salaam.
They bring the number of visiting teams to five. Others are Hong Kong, Afghanistan who jetted on Friday and Fiji, who arrived on Saturday.
According to the league's local coordinator, Kazim Nasser, the teams are now undergoing light training in readiness for the event.
Venues earmarked and approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to host the week-long event in Dar es Salaam are: Leaders Club, Annadil Burhani, University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and Gymkhana Club.
"We are happy that all the teams have arrived safely. We expect a thrilling and tough show," said Nasser, who is an official of the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA).
Members of Tanzania's national team have been training since returning from the UK a month ago. They had a two-week training stint in Europe to prepare for the event.
They are: Long-serving skipper Hamis Abdallah, Issa Kikasi, Abik Patwa, Bawesh Govind, Athumani Kakonzi, Kelvin Nasibu, Khalil Rhemtula, Kassim Nassoro, Riziki Kiseto, Abdukadir Dosaji, Rishen Patel, Benson Mwita and Rashid Amiri.
The league will also serve as part of qualifications for the 2011 ICC World Cup to be hosted jointly by India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
