Sudan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the kidnapped tourists in that country have been safely released.
The kidnap drama ended on Monday following an operation launched by an Egyptian force in coordination with the Sudanese Armed forces.
Ambassador Dr Ali Yousif said in Khartoum on Monday none of the hostages were hurt in the operation.
He said the Sudanese and Egyptian Armed Forces began their coordinated efforts to release the hostages on Sunday when a Sudanese Army force confronted the abductors and killed six of them and arrested two others.
Ambassador Dr Yousif pointed out that the coordination between the security organs in Sudan and Egypt and the contacts made with the home countries of the kidnapped tourists contributed remarkably to the provision and continuous flow of information on the issue.
He said the ambassadors of the countries of the hostages were informed on the operations, which were launched Sunday and Monday to release the abducted tourists.
On the identity of the kidnappers, Ambassador Yousif said that they were Sudanese and Chadians and that document found with the abductors proved that they belong to the Sudan Liberation Movement.
