Just when it seemed Jonathan Quartey had warmed his way into the Black Stars squad, the Kaizer Chiefs defender has suffered a set back after he was ruled out by an ankle sprain for the game against Lesotho.
Quartey turned in an outstanding performance for the Black Stars on his first competitive debut against Libya in Tripoli and won praise from Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac in the process but must now wait for another opportunity to impress the boss.
Rajevac had earlier toyed with the idea of a 24-man squad but the official list released by the football association's media outlet is without the injured Quartey and Kwadwo Poku, whose well documented disciplinary problems at Kumasi Asante Kotoko may have contributed to the omission.

Laryea Kingston is absent through suspension while Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has been dropped after a poor showing in Tripoli.
Ghana must win at all cost to stand any chance of making the second round of Africa's World Cup qualifying in that game in Sekondi.
The Black Stars are expected to converge in Accra next Monday before the squad travel to Sekondi on Wednesday ahead of the city's first match involving the senior national team.
