Luanda — The Coffee Sector Support Company "Procafé" has adopted the supply of consumer goods to growers as a means to boost the firm's profits.
This was said Tuesday in Luanda by the company's director general, Romualdo Traça Dias dos Santos.
Assessing the work done in the third semester of this year, the manager told Angop that coffee growers are Procafé's major patrimony and their provision with equipment and commodities will contribute to boost the firm's profits.
According to the official, the management of the 32 years old company has decided to change strategy and improve its commercial activity, by pushing closer to the growers, with a view to the firm's social purposes.
Procafé's director general admitted that the implementation of this purpose requires financial resources, adding the company has endeavoured with banks to get credit for the purchase of foodstuffs and working implements for the growers.
Romualdo Dias dos Santos said this is to maintain the growers satisfied with the company and promote innovations in its relationship with the peasants of the sector.
He added that this year, Procafé has invested Akz 45 million (01,00 Usd is Akz 75,00) and created ways to set up partnership with local commodity supplying companies with a view to improving its performance and satisfy the growers with consumer goods and tools.
Established in 1975, Procafé is a public capitals society and was out of operation between 1992 and 2003, as a result of the destruction of it offices in coffee growing provinces, namely (Kwanza Norte, Uíge, Kwanza Sul and Bengo), during the war.
