Luanda — The chairman of the Angolan Engineers Association, José Dias, Tuesday in Luanda spoke out of the need for a major intervention of professional associations in the programme of re-qualification and urban development of the country's capital city.
According to José Dias, who was speaking on the ongoing works of urbanisation of Luanda city, said a combination of efforts between the associations of architects, engineers and biologists will permit to organise the various undertakings taking place in the country.
The official added that in addition to the technical aspect, there is also the environmental side and its negative impacts on the population that should be dealt with.
He also spoke of the need for a channel of dialogue among the professional institutions and the Luanda government, in order to regulate procedures that should be taken into account in future projects.
José Dias said there are technicians who sign accords for projects for which they are not apt, and spoke of the need for a change in procedures in this domain.
On Friday last week, Luanda governor, Francisca do Espírito Santo, met with representatives of professional associations of engineers, architects and biologists, and concluded on the need for teams to design sanitation, environment and architecture projects in the capital.
