Namibia: Table Tennis at Rehoboth

A TABLE tennis tournament for primary schools was recently held in Rehoboth to test how far players have developed in the game.

Three new schools competed and the tournament attracted eight teams with three players each.

There was also a doubles competition and eight doubles pairs took part.

The winners in the doubles were Elroy van Wyk and Jacques Titus of JTL Beukes Primary School who beat Dario Vries and Sergio Eiman of Ruimte Primary School.

The best girls' player on the day was Antoinette van Wyk, while the best boys' player was Elroy van Wyk.

Both players are from JTL Beukes Primary School.

The schools finished as follows after the event.

1. JTL Beukes A,

2. Ruimte Primary School A,

3. Vooruitsig Junior Secondary School A,

4. Origo Primary School A,

5. Ruimte Primary School B,

6. Vooruitsig Junior Secondary School B,

7. JTL Beukes Primary B, and

8. Origo Primary B.

Next will be the School Teams Coastal table tennis tournament in Swakopmund on November 1.
