Angola: Jovens Do Prenda Band to Enliven Musongué Cultural Event

Luanda — The renowned Angolan band Jovens do Prenda are booked to perform on October 05 in Kilamba Cultural and Recreational Centre, in Luanda, in the ambit of the monthly live entertainment programme dubbed "Musongué da Tradição".

The information was given Tuesday to ANGOP by the manager of the mentioned centre, Estêvão Costa, who added that this is one more opportunity for the band's fans and music lovers to listen and dance to some of the hits the group produced in the decades of 1970 and 1980.

The Jovitos, as the band are also known by, are already in their fourth generation of members. For Sunday the group will count on the performance of some of their previous lead vocals, namely Don Caetano, Chico Montenegro, Augusto Chaia, Zecax and Tuely Bamba.

"This is a unique opportunity for the public to relive Jovens do Prenda in full strength and with the main figures of the band. We'll have a programme only dedicated to the music of Jovitos, as a way to remember the highest moments of the group" Estêvão Costa said.

Jovens do Prenda band were founded in 1968, having recorded their first album in 1982. Their latest album, entitled "Kudicola Kwetu", was released in 2003.
