Luanda — The national technical co-ordinator for junior football, Romeu Filemon, said last Tuesday in Luanda that Angola's under-17 national football team might face difficulties against Zimbabwe, for the second phase qualifier for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) of this category, to be held in 2009 in Algeria.
Speaking to ANGOP, the manager said that this is the decisive moment for Angola squad to qualify for CAN-2009, stressing that despite Zimbabwe's experience, Angola are on the right path.
"The players are confident in terms of play combinations and when it happens there is more probability to beat the adversary", the coach emphasised.
The sports official also said that whenever they qualify for a next phase things become more complicated, but he believes that the objective is to get to the final stage of CAN-2009.
"The players are reacting very well and there is indication that they will be a fundamental support for the future of the national senior males football team ", he said.
This is the second time Angola and Zimbabwe face each other in this category. In the first match disputed in 2007, the Angolan squad lost by 1-2, in the eliminatory for the regional tournament of southern African nations (Cosafa Cup), held in Namibia.
