Angola: Engineers Association Calls for Territory Rearrangement

Luanda — The chairperson of the Angolan Association of Engineers, José Dias, this Wednesday here said that his institution defends the need of the national territory rearrangement to improve the urbanisation of cities of the country.

Speaking to ANGOP, the official referred that the construction of tall buildings in the country's capital (Luanda) damages the image of the city and occupies sites reserved for gardens and leisure.

"We have been witnessing irregular construction of buildings at improper sites, this is why a certain rearrangement of the available territory is needed", stressed the source.

José Dias also called for cooperation between associations (of architects, biologists and engineers) and the provincial governments, for a technical analysis of the project before being implemented.

He pledged that his institution will support the government's efforts focussed on solving the problems faced by Luanda.
