Nigeria: NGO to Build Anti-Retroviral Centre in Niger

An NGO, Community Health and Development Agency, has concluded plans to construct an anti-retroviral centre for people living with HIV and AIDS in Niger State. The Agency is engaged in providing care and support for people living with HIV and AIDS.

The planned centre will be located at Bida clinic in Niger state and will cater for the needs of the rural people. The Secretary -General of the Niger State Action Committee on HIV and AIDS, Dr. Jimoh Jibrin, pledged to give full support to the agency.

"We will support the programme, it will be part of the efforts to create awareness and counseling centres in rural areas," he said. Jibrin also said that the centre which will soon be inaugurated, will bring care and support nearer to the people living with the virus, adding that the centre, when fully operational, will assist in the distribution of drugs and will give care and support to no fewer than 50 persons.
