Fwo former Heads of State, Generals. Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar yesterday paid a sallah visit to the residence of the Niger State Governor, Dr. Babngida Aliyu.
Speaking during the visit, General Babngida called for support and prayers for the success of the governor in the administration of the state.
He joined the good people of Niger State to thank Almighty Allah for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
The former military president also prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the three state government officials who lost their lives recently in a boat mishap.
Babangida expressed happiness that the governor has embarked on meaningful projects and programmes that would impact positively on the lives of the people and enjoined him to sustain the tempo.
Speaking in the same vein, General Abdulsalami prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to guide the governor in the discharge of his onerous responsibilities. Abdulsalami equally commended Governor Aliyu for embarking on people's oriented projects that are aimed at enhancing the standard of living of the people.
In his response, the governor expressed gratitude to the two former leaders for the visit, assuring them that he would continue to execute projects and programmes that would add value to the lives of Nigerlites.
On hand to receive the two former heads of state with Governor Aliyu were Senator Dahiru Kuta, the Secretary to the state Government, Dr. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Yusuf Tagwai as well as several commissioners in the state.
