Morrison O.G. Sayon

1 October 2008

The much-talked about limbless man of God, Pastor Nick Vujicic is in the country as guest of the Pastors and Churches Network Fellowship in Paynesville.

The 26 year-old American born prolific preacher who arrived in the country on Monday was welcomed by his hosts at the Jireh international Ministry on the Barnesville road. The welcome ceremony brought together thousands of Liberians who assembled at the Church to catch a glimpse of the prolific American cleric.

Pastor Nick surprised the congregation by telling them that he does not need legs and arms. "What I really need is Jesus Christ," He stressed.

This statement by the American disabled pastor alleviated the sorrow of many persons who attentively sat under the voice of the limbless preacher.

In his sermon, Pastor Nick noted that life on earth means nothing, if one does not have Jesus as their personal Lord and savior. He then noted, "You can have everything on earth including your arms and legs but nothing you will take to your grave if you don't have the Lord.

The American clergyman edification brought tears in the eyes of many when he narrated that no amount of money or riches can bring you hope when you do not have salvation. He said hope is priceless and nothing of this world can give you that hope.

"Don't say my problem is more than yours because a mother can give out her legs and arms for her child what matter is that you must see me as your brother in Christ and not to cry over my problem. No hope in comparing suffering but hope can only be found in God", the inspired Vujicic propounded God's word.

He continued, "I may not have arms and legs but I fly on the wings of the Holy Spirit."

Narrating his ordeal, pastor said he was born without limbs. He said Satan made his parents to believe that he would not walk. "Satan used to discourage my parents when the doctor told them that I will not walk, but the doctor was wrong. See that I can walk and jump though I have no legs," he joyfully articulated during his sermon.

He said his parents never knew that he would one day travel around the world to promulgate the salvation of God.

He then reminded Liberians that God is still in control of their situations and therefore they must not give up but keep the hope alive. He said fear is the greatest disability in the world, adding, "My life is a great miracle to someone up there."

Pastor Nick Liberia is the first of a ten-nation tour that he and his entourage are on. The preacher met with President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and visited Vice President Joseph Boakai at the Capitol Building. Pastor Nick will on tomorrow participate in a disabled conference at he Bethel Cathedral of Hope and proceed at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex for an Open Air Crusade.

Many persons who talked with our reporters expressed shock over the great zeal of the American Preacher.

According to them, disability should not mean failure in life as it is evident from the vibrant lifestyle of the American evangelist, Nick Vujicic.
