Nigeria: Police Arrest Ikhana's Attackers

2 October 2008

Police in Akure, have arrested three hoodlums who attempted to attack Sharks' manager, Kadiri Ikhana after last week's league game against Sunshine Stars.

Sunshine Stars' chairman, Kasali Obanoyen told KickOffNigeria.com that the three boys went to the hotel where Ikhana stayed and tried to gain entrance into his room.

"The police did a nice job and have arrested the three boys who caused problems in the hotel.

"Sharks stayed at the Steven's hotel inside Ijato Estate in Akure and these boys almost embarrassed the State when they tried to molest Ikhana.

"But we rallied round to put the problem under control. We are still investigating to see why the boys would try to attack Ikhana.

"We have also decided that the hoodlums will not be allowed inside the Akure Stadium to watch Sunshine Stars matches again," Obanoyen said.

Sunshine Stars defeated Sharks 2-1 in the Week Three match.
