Huambo — The head of the provincial department for interchange, arts and shows of Huambo, Boaventura Sevendo, on Wednesday here recognised that in the past few years there was some improvement in the music made by local artists.
Speaking to ANGOP, the central Huambo Province culture department official said that the improvement is reflected on the quality of melody, lyrics and discs that local musicians have been placing in the market.
Currently, he said, although the music that is produced by the artists in Huambo Province has other influences, it continues to express the local habits and customs.
On the other hand, he appealed to entrepreneurs to support the local musicians, especially with recording their albums and organising cultural events aimed at finding new talents.
Boaventura Sevendo also reminded that one of the main difficulties faced by local musicians has to do with the lack of recording studios.
Humabo Province only has three music studios, whose recording quality is still far from the acceptable levels.
