The Managing Editor of The Inquirer Mr. Philip N. Wesseh is appealing to FIFA Agent Mr. Alpha Bird Collins to use his good offices in assisting young talented Liberians to explode the opportunity in the Diaspora.
Mr. Wesseh said there are lots of young Liberians with talents but only need exposal. He said these young men and women can realized their potentials when those in the international circles including Mr. Collins who is a FIFA agent can use their offices to assist them by looking for better opportunities for the youths.
Mr. Wesseh then lauded Mr. Collins and wife for the kinds of charitable works they are doing and assured the couple that his institution will promote their fashion business.
Mr. Collins and wife Louise owned and operate a fashion house in the UK that designs wedding dresses and others.
The Inquirer's Managing Editor, Philip N. Wesseh informed Mr. & Mrs. Collins that the Inquirer is a people's paper and will continue to promulgate nothing but the truth.
Mr. Wesseh used the occasion to laud Mr. Collins and wife for their charitable works and admonished them to help promote sport which is the only unifier that Liberians now depends on.
Speaking earlier, Rev. Louise Ridley-Collins, wife of Liberia's FIFA agent, Alpha Bird Collins, reminded Liberians that free press is necessary for democratic society the world over.
Rev. Collins who accompanied her husband at the officers of The INQUIRER on Gurley Street yesterday noted that that democracy can only flourish in a society where there is a free press to alight the citizens of what is obtaining.
Madam Collins stressed that in the case of Liberia that is just emerging from a decade-long civil conflict people in the western world are learning more about the war torn nation. She said there are lots of things ongoing in the country that need to be known by people in other parts of the world.
The British national who is the wife of a Liberian noted that only the press can present strives being made in the country to the outside world adding, "The press is the mirror of every society and as such, it must be supported by all.
Also speaking, Mr. Alpha Bird Collins described The Inquirer newspaper as a great media institution in the country and a 'paper of the people.'
He said during the devastating civil war The Inquirer catered to the Liberian people in terms of information dissemination adding, "I choose this paper because it always speaks the truth."
Mr. Collins promised to always be part of The Inquirer because of what he calls the paper's strives to report the truth.
The FIFA Agent who was once named The Inquirer's sports personality of the year said The Inquirer is being read and accepted worldwide for its role by going extra miles in reporting what is obtaining in the country.
At the same time, Mr. Collins has presented a recorder and a digital camera to the management of The Inquirer to enhance the work of the paper.
