Kampala — MUSLIMS in Masaka have been warned against eating roast meat (muchomo) sold on the roadside. The Masaka municipality Muslim leader, Sheik Twaha Bugembe, said since it is not illegal to eat dog meat, many people will start selling it.
"However, it is forbidden in Islam to eat dog meat," he said. He was also concerned hat Arabic would be banned from being taught in schools.
"If Luganda and Swahili are taught, why not Arabic? Business is increasing between Uganda and Sudan and with other Arab countries like Saudi Arabia," Bugembe asked.
He said it was every Muslim's duty to object to the idea. "We should not undermine this as Muslims right from the beginning. I believe there are bad intentions behind it," he warned.
Bugembe asked the Government stop the youth from playing cards in the morning. "If they begin playing at 7:00am and stop at midnight, when do they work?"
