Angola: Youths Urged to Preserve National Artistic Legacy

Luanda — The director of National Music School, Gaspar Agostinho Neto, Wednesday here said that the future of Angolan music is on the hands of the youth, whose strength and desire are decisive for its disclosing and recognition abroad.

Speaking to ANGOP on the sidelines of a workshop on "the problems of Angolan instrumental music", held at the Angolan Writers Union (UEA), under the commemorations of the International Music Day, celebrated Wednesday (October 01), Gaspar Agostinho Neto

noted that the new generation has the responsibility to recover and preserve what has been done over the last 30 years.

However, the official stressed the need for the training of musicians, mainly on instrumental music.

To mark the International Music Day, the National Music School held a cultural concert coupled with poetry and interpretation of some songs by students of the referred institution.
