Express FC has written to Fufa President Lawrence Mulindwa and the National Council of Sports seeking help after the federation's competitions committee docked the club three points and fined them Shs2m.
Following thorough investigations and critical video evidence from that aborted National Super League fixture between Express and Bunnamwaya, the committee determined that Express fans spearheaded the chaos, hence the fine. Bunnamwaya was awarded three points and two goals.
In his letter, Express official Kavuma Kabenge said that the committee has no power to award any club points if there is any case. "We are reading the supreme Fufa constitution which says that any disagreement or case of two clubs shall be handled by the disciplinary and appeals committee not competitions committee secretary," part of the letter reads.
Kabenge said he would seek redress from the world football governing body Fifa unless Fufa reacts positively. "I have on several occasions talked to Magogo (FCC secretary) (below) over this matter but it seems he is the supreme law of Ugandan football," added Kabenge.
Meanwhile, giant sides Express FC, Kampala City Council FC and SC Villa have organised an Independence Day Cup to entertain the fans. KCC will tussle it out with Express on Saturday at Nakivubo stadium while Express clashes with SC Villa on Tuesday. Villa will play with KCC on Independence Day.
