Simba FC tactician Sam Ssimbwa has been appointed assistant Cranes coach for the second time by the Federation of Football Associations (Fufa) technical committee.

Ssimbwa beat fellow local coaches Jackson Mayanja of Bunnamwaya FC and Moses Basena of URA FC to the post, replacing former assistant tactician Sam Timbe. Ssimbwa's first assignment will be helping the Cranes win their last 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday, October 12.

Meanwhile, Cranes coach Bobby Williamson's father Thomas Williamson passed away on Wednesday night and the Scottish coach will have to return home for funeral rites.

"My sister Stoner has just called me confirming that my 71-year-old dad is no more. He spent his last days in Hospice (Scotland) with a terminal illness. He died at 11.20 p.m (U.K time)," a moody but strong Bobby said yesterday.
