Lagos — BriscoeFord at the commissioning of its modern showroom and after sales support centre in Lekki, Lagos unveiled a wide array of vehicles from the Ford stable including the 2008 Ford Mondeo.
The Mondeo has generated excitement across America, Europe and Asia where it has featured. The Mondeo is a rude departure from the traditional Ford architecture to flashy and stylish auto brands of Europe and America .
Speaking at the launch of the N500 million Ford Centre which comprises two showrooms at the first and second floors, a modern workshop and spareparts shops, the Chairman of R.T Briscoe, Mr. Clement Oluwakande, the parent company of BriscoeFord, said "the challenge is to continue to showcase an array of exciting models from the Ford stable into the Nigerian market."
"They must be backed with excellent after sales service. I assure you that we are up to the task with over 50 years experience", he said.
With an eye-catching exterior design, high level of standard safety and a reasonable entry price, the Mondeo should help the blue oval boost sales considerably, said Seyi Onajide, the Managing Director BriscoeFord.
The Managing Director of R.T Briscoe, Duro Olatunji, also assured of the Ford's Corporation technical support on its brands plus genuine spare parts and the service workshop which can conveniently accommodate 8 cars at a time. He said with several awards in its kitty and a Golden Shovel Award by Ford delivered at the Ford facility commissioning, in just three years of dealership, BriscoeFord will make the Ford brand renowned in Nigeria .
It is "a more robust one-stop shop and an all inclusive centre for Ford in Nigeria . It will witness a wide array of SUVs', passenger and commercial vehicles; quick turn around time on maintenance and bigger facility for parts inventory", he noted.
He explained further that the architectural design of the Ford Centre is unique and harmonises with the topography. "The first and second floors would serve as the showrooms while the ground floor will house the maintenance workshop, the showroom location is eye catching and is deliberately crafted to arrest passersby."
Other brands on display were Ford XLT pick up, Escosport automatic, Focus and Ford Explorer.
