Uganda: Telecom to Sensitise Financial Institutions

3 October 2008

Uganda Telecom will today hold an exposition for financial institutions in Uganda, in a bid to sensitize them on telecommunication services that can enhance and increase their profitability.

The exposition which will take place at the Kampala Sheraton will provide stakeholders in the financial sector, with knowledge on Disaster Recovery, Records Management, Mobile banking, Outsourcing, among others, Mr. Mark Kaheru, Uganda Telecom's Public Relation's Manager told Daily Monitor in statement yesterday.

"Uganda Telecom and our partners combine to solve specific business problems for our customers in this segment by using our expertise to deliver innovative solutions and provide superior value for every shilling spent," Mr Francis Egbuson, National Sales Manager, Uganda Telecom, said in a statement. Mr Egbuson added that the expo is also geared at making financial institutions like banks more competitive in Uganda.

This Financial Expo comes on the heels of the 'ICT for Government Excellence' that recently brought together government organisations in the quest to understand how ICT can be used to strengthen and enhance the workings of governments through e-governance and other solutions.
