3 October 2008

The State Minister for Agriculture, Dr Israel Kibirige Ssebunya, who is admitted at Mulago Hospital, is in a critical condition, the hospital's Executive Director, Dr Edward Ddumba has said. "He is very sick but stable. He can talk at times," Dr Ddumba told Daily Monitor yesterday.

Dr Kibirige is admitted in Ward 6B. Access to his room is limited to government officials, a few relatives and friends. Dr Kibirige, who is suffering from the cancer of the tongue, was rushed to Mulago Hospital on Monday after his condition worsened.

This was a month after he was discharged from a South African Hospital where he spent almost two months undergoing treatment. The minister was discharged on August 3 after his condition improved.
