Nigeria: Iwelumo Called Up for Scotland

Wolves' Nigerian born striker, Chris Iwelumo has been handed his first call-up to the Scotland squad for this month's World Cup qualifier against Norway.

Iwelumo has scored eight goals in seven matches for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season.

The thirty year old Iwelumo, was born in Coatbridge and is half Nigerian.

He played for Scotland's Team B in a friendly match against the Republic of Ireland last year and it ended 1-1.

He started his professional career at St Mirren and spent two years in Denmark with Aarhus before he was released in 2000.

In 2004 he signed for Bundesliga side, Alemannia Aachen on a free transfer, but returned to the UK to join Colchester a year later and he helped them win promotion to the Championship.
