Africa: Bank of Africa Goes to Mbale

5 October 2008

Kampala — BANK of Africa has launched its ninth branch in Mbale.

John Caruthers, the board chairman, said the expansion was a fulfilment of their commitment and promise to deliver world-class services.

"The decision to set up a branch in Mbale resulted from identification of the diverse and untapped business opportunities in the area. This branch will support our strategy of extending our footprint into the fast-growing business regions of the country," Caruthers said.

He said their immediate strategy was to spread their network in the whole country in the next five years, a plan exhibited by opening up branches in Arua, Ntinda, Lira and Mbarara.
