As the league enters its fourth week, one of the games that will be of interest to football followers is the South-South derby, between Sharks of Port-harcourt and Bayelsa United, scheduled for the Liberation Stadium, Port-Harcourt.
Ahead of the big match, Sharks coach, Kadiri Ikhana, has issued a strong warning to his players to show more commitment to the team's plan of ruling the Globacom Premier League .
Speaking during the week, the former Enyimba of Aba chief coach said the players need to show more commitment and seriousness if they must achieve their set agenda.
"I have called the players and told them they need to work harder. Personally, I'm not satisfied with our performance so far and I believe we can do better," Ikhana offered.
Other pairings include JUTH FC hosting Heartland of Owerri in Jos; Wikki Tourists of Bauchi will welcome Premier League returnees, Gateway of Abeokuta, at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
League runners-up, Niger Tornadoes, will be at home to Zamfara United in Minna; defending champions, Kano Pillars, will continue their title defence as they host premier league new comers, Warri Wolves, at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The match between two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba International of Aba versus Lobi stars of Makurdi, slated for the Aper Aku stadium in Makurdi, has been postponed due to a CAF Champions League Game between the Aba millionaires and African team of the century, Al-Ahly of Egypt in Aba this Sunday.
Meanwhile, ahead of the CAF Champion League game in Aba, CAF top scorer, Steven Worgu, said he is looking forward to getting his name on the score sheet on Sunday.
"Yes, I have scored in all the home games I have played in this competition and generally, we have done well at home as a team. Definitely, I'm looking forward to scoring on Sunday because I really want to help my team win. It's all about everyone of us working hard to get the result," said Worgu.
Enyimba of Aba, will play the first leg of its semi-finals clash against Egyptian giants, Al-Ahly, tomorrow in Aba; it is expected that the two-time African champions would win convincingly tomorrow and hope for at least a draw in Cairo, in a fortnight, to ensure a smooth passage to the finals of this year's CAF champions league.
