5 October 2008

National chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, has clarified his stand that the party will rule Nigeria for sixty years, saying only the implementation of sound economic policies would guarantee it.

His words: "When we implement useful economic policies and programmes that positively impact the lives of Nigerians, then Nigerians will continue to vote PDP for at least the next sixty years."

The national chairman, who spoke in Yola, the capital of Adamawa while flagging-off a two-day nationwide local government training course organised by the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI), noted that with knowledge and information, the party's functionaries in government would be better grounded to serve the country more productively.

Shortly after coming into office in March this year, Ogbulafor had declared that the PDP would rule Nigeria sixty years. He also said he did not mind if Nigeria became a one-party state.
