Matthew Amoah took his tally of goals in the Dutch Eredivisie this season to an impressive eight goals in six games as NAC Breda beat FC Vollendan 4-2 to go join PSV Eindhoven in second place.
The 28-year old is in great form for NAC and hit a brace for the second straight game.
Amoah's first arrived after twenty minutes when he let fly a right footed shot after picking up a pass from Anthony Lurling.
Amoah's second arrived on 68 minutes when he took advantage of some poor defending to head home Ellery Cairo's cross into the far corner.
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac will be thrilled with the goal scoring form of the man whose goals played a great part in helping the Black Stars reach Germany 2006 as they seek to bounce back in the 2010 qualifiers.
But one player he has ignored Francis Dickoh continued to impress for Utretch FC. Dickoh has often been maligned in the Ghanaian media and sidelined for less active players. He scored Utrecht's second goal with a header in their 3-0 win that ended FC Twente's unbeaten start to the season.
There was another Ghanaian goal in the Scottish premier league but Laryea Kingston's first goal of the season was not enough for Hearts as they went down 1-2 against visiting Kilmarnock. Kingston scooped the ball home from 10 yards after Michael Stewart's shot had rebounded off the body of the Kilmarnock goalkeeper.
In England, John Paintsil suffered yet another loss with Fulham as they went down against West Brom.
Paintsil has now had the longest spell in the first team since his move to England after the 2006 World Cup. But for the first time this season he did not see out the game and was replaced by Swedish international Fredrik Stoor on 82 minutes.
In France John Mensah was unavailable for champions Lyon's visit to his former club Stade Rennes but he would have been relieved to miss that trip as they were handed their first loss of the season, a 0-3 drubbing.
The other two Ghanaians in the French top flight all suffered losses. Moussa Narry who is bidding to replace Michael Essien in the Ghanaian midfield put in a full time shift for Auxerre who were beaten 0-2 by Toulouse.
Ghana U-20 captain Andrea Dede Ayew lasted for 75 minutes as Lorient lost a second half lead to lose 1-2 against last season's runners up Bordeaux.
In Denmark, the irony of Milovan Rajevac's selection for the Ghana-Lesotho game was exposed by Randers FC.
Issah Ahmed overlooked by Rajevac in his 22-man squad played for 90 minutes in Randers' loss to 0-1 loss to Sonderjyske. But Randers' other Ghanaian David Addy another defender, called up Rajevac is yet to make an appearance for the Danes.
