Luanda — Angola's Territory Administration minister Virgilio de Fontes Pereira, on Friday travelled to Brazil, where he will observe the municipal elections set for October 05, ANGOP has learnt.
Leading a team comprising five people, among them national directors and senior staff of his office, Virgílio de Fontes Pereira will seize the occasion to get some experience, taking into account the organisation of the first local elections in Angola, expected for the coming years.
According to the minister's press officer, Antunes Guanji, Virgilio de FontesPereira will first work in Minas Gerais State, afterwards Rio de Janeiro, where he will have some talks meant to get experience linked to electoral processes in municipalities.
Angola and Brazil have good co-operation and friendship ties both at bilateral framework and the Portuguese Speaking Community (CPLP).
Brazil was the first state to recognise the proclamation of Angola's independence on November 11, 1975.
