Luanda — The former international player of women national team of handball, Filomena Trindade, said Friday in Luanda that she ended her career in the right moment.
The Angolan athlete, who has played for "Petro" de Luanda, during 20 years, said that it is the right moment to leave the career, but pledged to continue being associated indirectly with the sport.
"The age and the injuries do not allow me to keep on at a moment we can see many young people emerging, almost countrywide, for the sport's well being", stressed Filomena Trindade.
Friday at the end of match between "Petro de Luanda" and "Atlético Sport Aviação" (ASA), the athlete turned in the field of Cidadela Pavilion to symbolise her withdrawal.
Also known by Filó, the athlete served the national team for 20 years and participated in the four Olympic Games, eight World Cups and nine continent titles.
