Tusker coach James Nandwa stumbled on his first match in charge when he lost 2-1 against a 10-man Agro Chemicals at Nyayo Stadium.
The loss leaves Tusker just seven points off the relegation zone as the Kenya Premier League enters the home stretch.
The Brewers struggled as their opponents took charge. Agro-Chemicals jump to third slot with 37 points, 12 behind joint leaders Mathare United and Sony Sugar.
The visitors' goalkeeper Fred Onyango was sharp in between the posts to deny them the lead.
Once Agro-Chemical settled down, it turned out to be a matter of time before they made a mark on the score sheet as they made several attempts on Tusker goal.
In the 27th minute, Edward Nandi slotted the ball past the charging Tusker goalkeeper Bonface Oluoch, having been put through by Jackson Omondi, who rounded up two defenders.
After the break, Tusker pushed their men up front as they sought to level the scores.
Their efforts paid dividend on the stroke of the hour as Nandi paid back the favour by putting Omondi in the clear to shoot beyond the reach of Bonface Oluoch in the goal.
Tusker, however, did not retreat but still came forward and Humfrey Okoti reduced the deficit by half from the penalty spot.
Referee Isaac Ochieng cautioned Fred Okello for fouling a Tusker striker in the box. Okoti stepped forward and hit past, Onyango.
With three minutes remaining, the referee sent off Sky Kizito. Agro-Chemical had to endure a nervy extra time.
Mahakama 0 Chemelil Sugar 1
Mahakama returned to the bottom of the league and risk facing the axe at the end of the season as they lost yet again at home to Chemelil Sugar at Nyayo Stadium.
John Baraza scored the all important goal to give Chemelil the three points with just two minutes left before the final whistle.
The two sides looked headed to share the spoils before Baraza sneaked through a crisp shot to beat the Mahakama goalkeeper.
The win sees the Nyanza side leap to eighth slot with 32 points while Mahakama will have to do better in their battle to avoid relegation in second last position on 24 points.
Gor Mahia 0 Red Berets 1
Relegation nightmare continues to haunt Gor Mahia as their blunt striking force failed to pierce through the Red Berets wall in a combative match played at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Collins Shivatsi gave Mwangi Kiragu side the maximum points from a goal mouth melee just a minute after the breather.
Four Red Berets players were cautioned as they made frantic efforts to thwart Gor Mahia resurgence.
Gor Mahia lost to Ulinzi in identical score line and now face uncertainty in their struggle to avoid the drop next season.
Bandari 3 Western Stima 1
Bandari eased up their relegation fears as they stunned Western Stima 3-1 at Mombasa Municipal Stadium.
Bandari recorded their fastest goal of the season scoring just 23 seconds into the game through Ajay Ali Kajo.
Western Stima then took the game to the hosts, equalising after nine minutes after Mark Sirengo put through Augustine Etemesi who beat Bandari's David Juma in goal.
Kajo got his brace as the second half started. Western Stima were reduced to 10 men in the 58th minute when referee Alfred Ndinya red carded their goalkeeper David Juma for a hard tackle on Abdulwahab Musa.
Ndinya also awarded a penalty to Bandari and Musa made no mistake in beating substitute goalie Bernard Ochogo.
