Lagos — Hundreds of Okitipupa residents in Ondo State, benefited from the free medical treatment organised by a Non- Governmental Organisation, Deep Offshore Community Affairs Group (DOCAG), in conjunction with Family Health Association.
Beneficiaries of the programme, held between September 29 and October 3, 2008, at Okitipupa Specialist Hospital, include those from Okitipupa, Igbokoda, Irele and Ode Aye in Ondo South Senatorial District, who were treated for eye, ear, nose, and other diseases.
The Association, which focused on community development, treated 700 patients, while 1,000 eye glasses were distributed, with eye surgery performed on 200 patients free of charge.
Speaking during the programme, National Programme Coordinator, Family Care Association, Joshua Kempeneer, said the organisation's focus is to bring joy to people through provision of quality health.
