South Africa/Botswana: Amajita Fired Up for Botswana Clash

6 October 2008

After beating Lesotho 2-0 in an international friendly in Kimberley on Saturday, Amajita are now fired up and ready to face Botswana in the African Youth Championship qualifier second leg this weekend.

South Africa played to a 1-1 draw against Botswana in the first leg game played in Gaborone a fortnight ago.

Amajita manager Winston Marumo tells KickOff.com that their victory over Lesotho has given them much needed confidence to advance to the next stage of the tournament.

Marumo also announced the return of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mandla Masango, former Under-17 captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele and on-form striker Ace Bhengu of Moroka Swallows.

"Our plan is to go to the Northern Cape early so that the boys can familiarise themselves with the place and conditions on the pitch.

"We are expecting Masango, Mphahlele and Bhengu to arrive in camp today. They all missed the first leg in Gaborone due to club commitments," he added.

Carara Kicks striker Nkani Zwane scored the two goals that helped South Africa beat Lesotho on Saturday.
