Arusha — The national football league at district level has kicked off in Longido district as of September 20 with nine teams in battle.
According to the league timetable released by Football Association of Longido (FALO) General Secretary, Mdoka Matola, the league would be played in accordance to the TFF rules and regulations. He said the league would be played in three groups.
Group A will include Namanga Stars, Viwawa Football Club and Vijana FC while Group B would be made up of Laibon FC, Mundarara FC and Mairowa FC.
Group C would be made up of Lekule Stars, Kamwanga FC and Mkao FC.
Matola said four fields would be used for the league that is Kamwanga, Mundarara, Olmolog and Namanga and called on all the referees and officials to follow all the league regulations as spelt out by TFF.
He said the final match and determination of the district champions in the regional league would be on November 9.
He said they were fully determined to put Longido's name in the list of districts with good football records though it is only a new district recently curved out of Monduli.
