Arusha — The Eastern and Southern African Management Institute(ESAMI) and Netherlands-based Maastricht School of Management (MSM) have established a research network through the "Round Table Africa Project" which will come up with proposals that will lead to European investors setting up industries in Africa.
Bringing together a group of 32 high level experts the research is carried out under themes such as: Agriculture, mining, tourism, bio fuels, supermarkets, public services and manufacturing.
In all the sectors, according to ESAMI newsletter, the research is looking at opportunities to upgrade what is described as value chains with a view to: Creating employment, contributing to poverty alleviation, assisting women to enhance their socio-economic status, and assisting small scale producers to access markets in the region and overseas.
The researchers participated in a pre-roundtable seminar in Maastricht, Netherlands on recently. During that seminar, a number of European experts in research were invited.
The research will be completed by 2010.
