THE Erongo Police have arrested a married couple and confiscated cocaine with a street value of about N$250 000 in Walvis Bay's Narraville residential area.
"This is probably one of the biggest successes in the Erongo Region since I started as commander over a year ago," said the regional Police chief, Deputy Commissioner Festus Shilongo.
He said a tip-off from reliable sources led to the bust on Thursday evening.
He said the Police raided a house in Narraville, where Alex Melani (known as 'Maquan') and his wife Willemien were allegedly processing about 600 grams of cocaine into crack cocaine.
"We confiscated everything, and sealed up the drugs, and all the tools used to make the crack - all for evidence," Shilongo said.
The couple appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate's Court on Friday.
It was the third drug bust at the coast last week.
Earlier in the week, the Police seized 14,5 kgs of dagga and arrested six people - including a woman in her 70s - in two separate operations at Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
Shilongo also said a third person was arrested in Walvis Bay on Friday night in possession counterfeit banknotes with a face value of N$150.
Earlier last week, two people were arrested for allegedly being in possession of fake money in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
