Angola: Cuban Songstress Delighted At Angolan Public

Luanda — The vocalist of the Cuban all-female band "Caramelo Son", Danaisis Carrillo, said Saturday evening, in Luanda, that she felt absolutely delighted at the Angolan people's active participation in the concert of solidarity to the victims of the hurricanes that recently hit her country.

Speaking to ANGOP- at the concert that was attended by Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, and First Lady Ana Paula dos Santos- Danaisis Carrillo said that solidarity is always something nice and the Angolan people was able to show it.

"Due to the difficult situations that the victims of the storms are going through, we are exhorting all nations of the world to help. Angola is one of those countries that lent a helping hand, for which we are thankful" she stressed.

On his turn, Angolan musician Yuri da Cunha, who also performed in that event, said that the love among the people should always be shown and not hidden, so one has to commend the public that came to show solidarity to Cuba.

Besides the mentioned Cuban band, made up by nine women, the event was also enlivened by the Angolan artists Ary, Bangão, Big Nelo, Zecax, Dom Caetano, Paloma, Danny and Yetu, Yola Semedo, The Kings band, Gomes, Kelly Silva, and the dance group Yaka.

The Cuban female band "Caramelo Son" was created in 1996.
