Kickoff (Cape Town)
6 October 2008
Former Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates coach Owen da Gama has resigned from Free State Stars, citing interference in his running of Ea Lla Koto.
Da Gama's resignation takes immediate effect.
The former Moroka Swallows' striker took over from Ghanaian David Duncan only two months ago.
Reports allege that a senior Stars' official tried to influence Da Gama's selection ahead of their weekend game against Bay United in Welkom.
Ea Lla Koto registered their first win of the season when they beat the Port Elizabeth-based club 3-2 in Welkom yesterday.
