Nnyonjo Music Production in this month is celebrating a breakthrough in the promotion of local music on the international market through their distribution outlets in Europe and America. In the last one year the company sponsored and distributed the third music video collection of over 5,000 DVDs to Ugandans in the Diaspora.

"We weren't looking at business. It was just a way of celebrating Uganda's achievement in the music industry." Says Nnyonjo's Uganda manager, Mr Edwin Segawa. "We opened points of promotions to set up a system so that our music artistes can have a competitive edge on the international scene and it just worked" The company cut out for itself a niche on the local market by producing music videos at affordable rates for upcoming artistes. The company has produced and distributed award winning music videos for top artistes including Bobi Wine, Desire Luzinda, Sylver Kyagulanyi, Ray Kapale, Rachel Kay, Ngoni, Toolman, among others. Nnyonjo started in 2003 as a filming company and has produced over 50 music videos in the last 3 years alone. Over 80 percent of the music has automatically been hits. The manager attributes this to team work, dedication and a bit of resident luck in the company. Mr. Segawa said: "Like the word of God says, 'The battle is not to the strong nor the race to the swift nor yet bread to the wise, time and chance happens to all.' I think we are just lucky but also looking at the big picture while concentrating on the details." This is just one area of the company's international agenda which includes organizing shows for artistes in the Diaspora.
