Luanda — The minister of Agriculture, Afonso Canga, on Monday here guaranteed the implementation of tasks of the agrarian sector with more engagement and dedication, with view to meet the goals of the governance programme.
Speaking during to ceremony to introduce himself to staff of the agricultural sector, the official said to expect from workers and collaborators of the Agriculture Ministry "great engagement, because the current period is not of experience, but of action to obtain good results".
According to Afonso Canga, directors need to know that the governance programme and main tasks of the agrarian sector demand from them "more work and fewer speeches", in respect to the instruction of the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, whilst swearing in the new government.
The minister of Agriculture warned senior staff of his sector to be prepared and aware of "what, when and how to carry out", so as to fulfil the responsibilities, as from this moment and in the coming years, foreseeing a positive balance in 2012.
The incumbent minister stated that "agriculture means performing well so we can understand each other", paraphrasing the affirmation of the Angolan President, which states that "is by performing well that we will understand each other in the government".
Afonso Pedro Canga, an agronomy engineer, already held the posts of deputy minister and director general of the Agrarian Development Institute (IDA).
The official was reinstated by the head of the Angolan Government, on October 01, at the helm of the Ministry of Agriculture (now dubbed MINAGRI), after having been nominated in January 2007.
