"Being nominated twice meant I was a strong contender in that house," a confident Uti told Big Brother show host Kabelo.
And with seven African countries voting against Uti which was a close call to the six that voted against Munya, it seems Africa also viewed him as a strong contender, and wanted to see him stay longer in the house, but it wasn't to be.
Uti was a victim of his own unpredictable character. He ruffled Mimi's feathers and would sleep through a Big Brother task, but would conclude the day having made everyone in the house laugh at his jokes. It's that unpredictability that was too hot for some of the housemates to handle.
But despite his insatiable love to stress others as confessed by him, ("I just loved to poke fun at Mimi,") the Nigerian was actually a worthy contender for the $100,000. His removal from the house has left a vacuum for someone who knows how to stress and caress at the same time.
And as for Morris, he has lost someone responsible for rescuing him from the dead. Like Tawana commented, "Morris, you have lost your best friend in the house." If it where not for the Nigerian, Morris would have already returned to the dusty streets of Kampala.
He coaxed Morris out of his shell, nominated Latoya for playing around with people's feelings (actually meaning Morris's feelings), and at the same time had his heated debates with the Ugandan. It's the Nigerian who gave the Ugandan a lifeline he so badly needed. The prayer is for Morris not to lose his way courtesy of Uti's departure.
As for Ricco and Munya, one thing is clear - Ricco is loved by Africa, some saying he is the next Richard. Despite being nominated twice in a row, Ricco once again was left unscatched with no country voting against him. As for Munya, who kept thanking Africa for saving him "Thank you Uganda, Botswana...," unknown to him, he survived by just one vote. Damn, I wish Munya had left to meet his "true love" Lucille!
Next stop for Uti is Nollywood. "I'm going to use the exposure Big Brother has given me to go into acting," said the jovial Nigerian. Personally I'm not a "Ki-Nigeria" movie buff, but with Uti dappling into some acting, I think I will give those Nigerian movies a chance.
In Uti's departure, Big Brother has lost such a charismatic character, and strong contender for the money, but like all games in the world, the best team is not always the victor. Hopefully we shall see more of Uti courtesy of Nollywood movie perhaps.
