Uganda: ACC, Nile Share Spoils in Super Six

Lugogo — Defending champions Africa Cricket Club (ACC) came close to their second league win but for a Duckwork & Lewis Method (D/L Method) calculation error of revised targets in the dressing room, they had to settle for a tie with Nile at Lugogo oval on Sunday.

The rain shortened game kept on changing favours but it was relegation-fighting ACC that were left ruing a missed opportunity to turn around their woeful-season.

Nile won the toss, batted first but soon found themselves in murky waters at 33 for 4. Roger Mukasa Galiwango, Nile's lone batting star for the full season, continued his rescue acts with the bat, blazing away to 87 runs as Nile coasted to 161 runs. Daniel Strachan kept Nile in check with a three-wicket haul.

ACC began the ran chase on wrong note on the placid pitch as star opening-batsman Arthur Kyobe was forced to have an early shower with only 10 runs on board.

Richard Lwamafa (14) added 54 runs with Davis Turinawe (27) but Abraham Oduch (3 for 28) and David Musoke (3 for 25) triggered a mini-collapse as they ran through the middle order.
